Blue Ridge Quilt Festival 2010
The show takes place in the Blacksburg Middle School main building. Karin decided for various reasons to change the show to a biennial show, which will from now on take place on even numbered years.
Even more vendors followed our plea for vendor sponsored awards this year. Vendors are free to award the ribbon anytime during the show. So it is a surprize for everyone when another ribbon almost magically appears on a certain quilt.
We have a very special exhibit this year: "Kaleidoscope Quilts", which draw many visitors back again and again. All 17 quilts in this exhibit were made by staff of Jinny Beyer for two Hilton Head Seminars in South Carolina. The Blue Ridge Quilt Festival is proud to exhibit this outstanding variety of Kaleidoscope quilts for the first time in Virginia.
The very best show ever! Visitors, vendors, and volunteers agreed on that one.
Things we should change or add: - a coffee machine close to the class rooms - shift the show away from Sunday due to low visitor number
