# 1  "EMBELLISHED LANDSCAPE"

We start by constructing a landscape using various methods to create a sense of depth and realism. Embellish the landscape with thread work, machine needle lace, sheers and textured fabrics. Finally, learn to make a decorative shaped border to frame your landscape and how to effectively break the borders to suggest another layer of depth and dimension. Designs for one or more landscapes will be provided, so you do not need to know how to draw to take this class, however you will have freedom to exercise as much creativity as you like.

Ignore the quilt police while building a charming neighborhood of houses.  Wildly funky or traditional, each will reflect your personality.  This is a fun and relaxing workshop incorporating fused appliqué.   Students should leave class with enough blocks for a small wall quilt.

GETTING THE BASICS ALL TOGETHER"

Learn the basics for successful Quilting By Hand from a pro! Didi has been hand quilting for 30+ years and her stitches can be found in books by Mimi Dietrich and Barbara Brackman. Selecting a design, marking, basting, stitching and the rock-your-needle method will be covered. The project is a simple 18” muslin fabric sandwich which is designed to be a practice piece, not necessarily your heirloom masterpiece.
